TIGER PIE
Written by Ed Grimes
For the 1997 KP Multi-Specialty Group - Tigers
Sung to American Pie
A long long time ago I can still
remember how TIGER BASEBALL used to make
me smile
And I knew if they had their chance
That the TIGERS could make those fans dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while.
But the MAY rains made us shiver
With every baseball we delivered
Bad News in the Central Post
Must have been our bad luck ghost.
I can't remember if I cried
When I read about how the TIGERS always tried
But somehow I knew they wouldn't crack
The day the TIGERS came back
So {Refrain}
Hey-Hey were playing TIGER PIE
Drove our parents to the diamond
And the diamond was dry
We were down 12 to nothin and forced a tie
Singin' them TIGERS really know how to try
Those TIGERS really know how to try
Did you see JJ's bat come alive
And do you have faith that ANDREW will arrive
If COACH CHRIS tells you so
Do you believe in DUSTIN'S mighty roll
Can STEPHANIE'S cheers save our baseball soul
And can you teach me how to pitch like RUSSELL WHOA
Well, I know that JOHNATON'S hit wasn't a whim
Cause I saw MIKE B MC in the gym
You both kicked off your shoes
Man, CJ said I'll never let you guys lose
DOM was never lonely in right field
Because NICOLE'S cries would never yield
But I knew TIGERS could not be peeled
The day the TIGERS came back
I started singin' {Refrain}
Now for ten games we've played on our own
And VINCENT tossed that mighty stone
But that's not how it used to be
When JAMIE swung for the King and Queen
With a bat she borrowed from MIKE T
And a voice that came from DAWN and BOBBIE
Oh, and while the other team thought we were down
The TIGERS gave them such a frown
The Bedford Park was soon adjourned
No extra innings were returned
And while I never forget our Coaches' remarks
That they gave us in the park
And we celebrated until it was dark
The day the TIGERS came back
We were singing {Refrain}
