The Thriller on Field 17

Brian Peters threw six innings of shutout baseball striking out nine and Chris Greco came on to get the last three outs (with the winning runs on base) and pick up the save as the Vikings won a thrilling 2 - 1 game over Warren in the Branchburg Tournament. The 14-B's plated their first run in the 6th to break the shutout when Brian Peters drove in Tommy Parisi (1 hit, 2 walks). In the top of the 7th Danny Fraass singled and Vineesh Manchanda doubled to drive him in with what proved to be the winning run. Danny Miller had two hits and Greg Watson one hit. Centerfielder Matt Ondrejack threw out two runners at the plate and both Watson and Parisi turned in spectacular performances with the glove too.

14-B's and Fans Battle Readington

South Brunswick's bats came alive with everyone hitting safely and ripping a total of seven extra base hits to defeat the host team Readington 11- 3 in the Readington Tournament. Danny Miller continued his hot hitting leading the offense with two double, triple, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Danny Fraass had a double, 2 RBI and a run scored; Vineesh Manchanda had 2 doubles, RBI, walk and a run scored. Bryan Dau had a single, double, RBI and a run scored; Brian Peters had a hit, RBI and 2 runs scored. While Matt Ondrejack had 2 hits and an RBI, Chris Greco had a hit, RBI, 2 walks and a run scored; Tommy Parisi had a hit and 2 runs scored. Rounding out the offense was Matt Ryan hit and run scored, Ryan Bills and Greg Watson each had a hit. Greg Watson pitched an excellent game to pick up the victory and Chris Greco closed it out.

South Brunswick Sees Red in Flemington

Matt Ondrejack led the offense with a single, double, triple and 3 runs scored but the Vikings could not make up for an early lead by Flemington Red and dropped a 12 - 7 decision. Chris Greco and Tommy Parisi each had 3 hits, 2 RBI and a run scored. Danny Fraass had a double and 2 RBI while Vineesh Manchanda had a RBI. Bryan Dau had a hit and run scored and Danny Miller had a hit.

B's Play at Whitehouse on Independance Day

In Readington Tournament play the 14-B's late inning comeback came up just short as South Brunswick lost to Whitehouse Station 9 - 8. Bryan Dau had two hits; Danny Miller had a hit, RBI and run scored; Vineesh Manchanda picked up an RBI and run scored. Tommy Parisi and Brian Peters each had a hit and 2 runs scored. Danny Fraass had a hit and a run scored and Chris Greco had a hit while Matt Ryan drove in two runs and Ryan Bills had one RBI.

Tough Loss in Bottom of 7th

The Vikings lost a heart breaker 7 - 6 to Delaware Valley in the Readington Summer League. Danny Miller had a hit and two RBI; Chris Greco had a double, single and an RBI; Brian Dau had a hit and an RBI; Greg Watson had two hits; Tommy Parisi and Brian Peters each had a hit.; Matt Ondrejack had a triple and Vineesh Manchanda had an RBI. Tommy Parisi made his pitching debut for the Vikings and with a little help from the defense was flawless in relief.

Setting Sun Ends Game In Tie

The Vikings played till the sun went down and came away with a 7 - 7 tie against Whitehouse Station in the Readington Summer League. Danny Fraass had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored. Danny Miller had two hits and an RBI; Greg Watson had a single and double, Matt Ondrejack had two hits and a run scored. Brian Peters had a hit and an RBI; Chris Greco had a hit and a walk while Tommy Parisi and Bryan Dau each had a hit and a run scored. Ryan Bills and Matt Ryan each scored. Matt Ondrejack pitched well in his first appearance on the mound this season.

B's not high on Berkley Heights

In the opening game of the Branchburg Tournament the South Brunswick 14-year-old Black travel team dropped an 8 -5 decision against Berkley Heights. Brian Dau lead the Vikings with a double and 3 RBI while Brian Peters and Ryan Bills each had a hit and an RBI and Vineesh Manchanda added a hit.

South Brunswick face tough Montgomery Green squad

In the second game on Sunday the 14-B's faced a hard-hitting Montgomery Green in South Brunswick and suffered their first league loss, 12 - 1.  Danny Miller had a single and double, Chris Greco had two hits, a walk and scored the Vikings lone run.   Bryan Dau, Danny Fraass and Greg Watson each had a hit.

Vikings bounce back in Readington Tournament defeating Delaware Valley 7 - 3

The Vikings returned to the Reading Tournament to face Delaware Valley and picked up a 7 - 3 win behind Chris Greco, who struck out six going all seven innings.   Greg Watson had a triple and two RBI while Tommy Parisi had a hit, RBI and two runs scored.  Brian Peters had a hit, RBI and run scored, while Danny Miller had a hit and run scored and Ryan Bills had a hit.  Matt Ondrejack had three walks and two runs scored while Matt Ryan had a walk and scored a run and Dau walked twice.

14-B's drop opener in Readington Tournament 12 - 2 to Hillsboro

In the opening round of the Readington Tournament, the Vikings fell 12 - 2 to Hillsboro.  Greg Watson pitched well for five inningsbut ran into trouble in the sixth.  Offensively, Chris Greco had two hits and two RBI while Matt Ondrejack had two hits and a run scored.  Tommy Parisi had a hit and Danny Miller scored a run and made a fantastic throw to relay man Vineesh Manchanda to nail a runner at the plate.

14-B's pound Montgomery Gold 19 - 8!

Chris Greco made his first start of the season, pitching four innings and allowing just one base runner as the 14 B's topped Montgomery Gold, 19-8.  Danny Fraass lead the offense with three hits and three RBI along with Bryan Dau (single, triple, three RBI).  All the Vikings hit safely and drove in at least one run.  Greco helped himself with two hits and two RBI, while Tommy Parisi (four runs), Brian Peters (three runs) and Greg Watson each had two hits and two RBI.  Matt Ondrejack and Danny Miller had two hits and an RBI apiece and Ryan Bills added a hit and RBI.

SBAA Black 14's open summer season with win


The South Brunswick Athletic Association's 14-year-old Black team got its season off to a strong start, as Brian Peters and Bryan Dau lead a thrilling, come-from-behind 8 - 7 victory over North Hunterdon in the Readington Summer Baseball League.
